Retrofit Double Glazing
Retrofit double glazing offers all the benefits of double glazing without the need to replace existing windows and doors.
At GoGreen Glazing, we can retrofit High Performance Insulating Glass to your existing windows and doors. Because of the challenges involved in retrofit double glazing, most glazing companies can’t do it. But we can. We will tune any upgrade to meet your needs.
Our unique retrofitting process has been developed from over 25 years of experience working across all areas of the glazing industry.
By retrofitting double glazing to your existing windows, you get all the benefits without the need for invasive building work. With our process, there is no disruption to your window frames and the surrounding walls. By retaining your existing windows, we also reduce the amount of resources required, as well as cutting back on construction waste and the materials going to landfill.
Retrofitting offers a range of benefits over replacement windows and doors:
- Cost effective: Retrofitting requires fewer materials and less labour and therefore costs less
- Less invasive: Retrofitting doesn’t require replacing window frames, architraves, window furnishings, or require repairs to the surrounding walls, floor, ceilings
- Less resource intensive: Retrofitting uses your existing windows and framing structures, so nothing goes to landfill
- Keep your existing windows: Retrofitting will not affect the look or operation of your windows

Lowers Your Energy Bills

Improves Home Security
Double glazing typically involves combining two panes of glass into a single window system. The system is designed to create a sealed gap between the two panes filled with air or an inert gas like argon. This acts as an extra layer of insulation, reducing thermal transfer through the windows and helping to regulate the building temperature.
To maximise the benefits, we offer premium, high-performance energy saving glass. Known as Low Emissivity (Low-E) glass, it features an invisible metallic coating that enhances its insulating properties, helping to naturally regulate building temperatures. Our Low-E glass helps reduce thermal transfer, as well as filtering out solar radiation and reducing glare.
Since glass windows and doors are responsible for a significant proportion of a building’s heat loss, double glazing combined with energy-saving glass will dramatically improve your energy efficiency. Not only will you save on your energy costs, but by lowering your reliance on heating and cooling systems you will also reduce your carbon footprint.
It also has the additional benefits of improving sound insulation and bolstering your home security by significantly strengthening your windows.
Whichever way you look at it, double glazing makes sense. It’s an investment that pays for itself.
